Stephanie J. Lauw received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English Literature from Flagler College, and a Master of Science in International Relations & Affairs from Florida State University, where she focused her research on International Conflict and Resolution. Ms. Lauw completed the FSU Certificate in Emergency Management in 2010 and began serving as Course Mentor for Introduction to Terrorism. In 2026, she earned her Juris Doctorate from Charleston School of Law, and upon successful passage of the South Carolina Bar Exam, she will serve as Assistant Public Defender at the Charleston County Public Defender’s Office. Ms. Lauw has 15 years of experience working for Florida State University, Yale University, and Texas Christian University. Most recently. She has also gained legal research, writing, and analysis experience as a legal research assistantship, through a general counsel externship, and while serving as a year-long law clerk at the Charleston County Public Defender’s Office. Ms. Lauw lives in Charleston, South Carolina and she’s focused on supporting her online students at FSU as they actualize their academic pursuits.
