Lt. Col. Soonwoo Choi is an active-duty officer in the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) who has served as a UAS Instructor and GA for the Emergency Management and Homeland Security (EMHS) program since 2022. He is also a member of the Disaster Incident Research Team (DIRT) as a UAS pilot.
He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Public Administration at Florida State University. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Arts from the ROK Air Force Academy. Before his doctoral studies, his career in the ROKAF included assignments as a North Korea Policy Officer for the Ministry of National Defense, an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at the ROK Air Force Academy, and as an aviator.
