Welcome to the Fall '25 Semester

Published on 2025-09-10

Fall 2025 is in full swing! Graduate and undergraduate students have flocked back to campus for a new semester.

To our new and returning students… welcome to Fall 2025! This semester is already off to a great start, with students enrolled in over 40 sections of emergency management, intelligence, and unmanned systems classes. Our faculty and staff are working on several projects, ranging from planning efforts supporting state agencies, refining remote sensing in disasters, and examining the development of artificial intelligence in disaster management. All of this promises to create an exciting and engaging semester.

The Disaster Intelligence Analysis Lab (DIAL) just onboarded 17 new volunteer interns, who will help support over a dozen agencies and organizations with daily intelligence reports. DIAL is a unique opportunity where students can gain critical experience and education before graduating and joining the workforce.

Perhaps most exciting - EMHS will officially launch a bachelor’s degree in Fall 2026. With majors in Emergency Management and Intelligence Studies, this will mark a significant expansion of our educational mission.

I hope you all have a safe and exciting Fall!
