Who are the EMHS program?
Drawing from decades of public- and private-sector consulting in the field of Emergency Management, the EMHS Program faculty and staff have developed a curriculum of study for students and professionals interested in pursuing or furthering a career in Emergency Management and related fields. Members of the EMHS staff have worked both in and with the U.S. Military, the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM), and private sector organizations.
EMHS staff includes university faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and Emergency Management professionals. Always looking for ways to improve the Program, EMHS faculty teach established principles of Emergency Management while also exposing students to emerging trends and discourse in the field. Similarly, researchers in the EMHS Program are exploring the newest developments and phenomena in the Emergency Management field, while support staff constantly work to improve student-faculty use of technology and contemporary multimedia materials.
Recognizing that the field of Emergency Management demands knowledgeable and capable personnel, the staff at the EMHS Program seek to shape today’s students into tomorrow’s Emergency Managers. As EM professionals meet the demands of their jobs with passion and dedication, so too does the EMHS staff bring enthusiasm and resolve to providing students with a world-class education in Emergency Management.
